Informing her of his travel plans; telling her that "The Woman in White has beaten the libraries -- they all gave in, and the whole of the first impression was sold on the day of publication." A note adds, "I have just returned from [Sampson] Low's [his publisher] with £500. 350 copies of the second edition sold in five days!"
